We were looking for a good place to have breakfast and came across this hidden gem. The owner was very friendly, and even though we arrived unexpectedly and weren't staying the night, we could still order a great breakfast there. It was the best breakfast we had in Mexico; the location and staff were lovely. It is also close to both Calakmul and Becan. We recommend this place and wish we had stayed the night there as well. Thank you!

Diane is amazing, so much knowledge on the Mayan culture and she’s a force of nature. Truly amazing food , packed breakfast and lunch for Calakmul, which is utterly superb hardly anyone there and beautiful, road is much easier as no longer mud. Chicanná and Becan also must see.

Ready for a gem in the jungle? Rio Bec Dreams is a welcoming and cozy place to stay on the jungle. It felt homely to us. When you wake up, you can hear and see tropical birds from your bed. Our squeaky clean cabana had everything we needed, for example warm water and fans. Staying in the jungle has never been this comfortable. On the premises cute dogs and a cat greet you, but don’t bother you. The restaurant served good non-Mexican food. Yes, it may take a while, but it was worth the wait. Also, they know how to make perfect margaritas. Diane is a lovely host that engaged with us regularly to make sure we were comfortable and to provide us with helpful tips for discovering the Maya ruins. She is very knowledgeable about present and past Mexican culture and has even written books. Diane has enriched our stay. Would recommend!

A must go 2 stay when you travel to see calakmul! The increadable Diane is one of a kind and the people she works with are great Izchael the guide was very good. Besides the great dishes and Marqueritas Diana serves, she is a one man show on her own, passion about the place, history and al het knowledge about the Mexicans and Maya’s is increadable. For travellers who like adventure and long for those were the days travelling. We will definitely remember this strong minded lady!

The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, blending nature with comfort. The best part? The amazing service – the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. Plus, the in-house restaurant serves delicious, fresh meals that are perfect after a day of exploring the nearby ruins. A perfect retreat for those looking for peace, great food, and top-notch hospitality!

I strongly recommend this place if you want to enjoy the jungle and listen to natures voices at the morning. If you are looking for fancy hotel like in Tulum it isn't place for you. All place is very clear and they serve a very good breakfasts and dinners (if you need they would prepare you a good lunch for a trip). Diane is a very good host I regret We stayed for only 2 nights I will miss the Rio Bec Dreams and I hope I can visit this place once again in the future.

Loved to stay at this little hotel gem! Diane is a lovely and fun host (and a great cook). Relaxing atmosphere, easy to get in touch with other travelers. I don't understand the bad reviews, they seem unfair - every tourist in that Calakmul region should know that (s)he is in the deepest jungle as well as at the only road there is, so "disturbance" by animals and cars should be expected and tolerated. The bungalows are pretty and the owners keep everything in perfect shape. Thanks!
